Join our Sainsbury Institute colleague Professor Nicole Coolidge Rousmaniere for her lecture at Heidelberg University’s Institute of East Asian Art History on the inherent need to translate throughout her career as a Japanese Art Historian. Nicole will share her insights on translation practice and tackling complicated concepts of periodisation, place and politics in her endeavour to make Japanese materials more accessible.
You can hear more from Nicole on this week’s Beyond Japan episode, Exhibiting Japan.
